Description
This “5” cap gun was made in 1875 with a 3 star rating for rarity. It is described in Sam Logan/Charles Best book “Cast Iron Toy Guns and Cap Shooters” on page 56(F4.1). This cap gun is 4” inches in length. It is a single shot, single action, which means it has to be cocked every time to fire it. It takes a single small cap. The grip shows some wear and pit marks, and when pulling the hammer back, it releases automatically before pulling the trigger (the hammer does not stay in the cocked position). The number “5” is clearly embossed on the gun. Please refer to the pictures. This is a toy cap gun. It cannot be altered to shoot any type of projectile.
"This replica gun contains the colored markings required by law, including a permanently attached orange plug."
